Lima, Ohio—The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a draft air permit for the planned modification of the PCS Nitrogen plant in Lima, and will hold a public information session and hearing Thursday, Jan. 9, to explain the draft permit and accept public comments. The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. in the Lima city council chambers, 50 Town Square, Lima. If approved, the permit would allow the company to modify existing plant operations to increase the facility’s production capacity for ammonia and urea. PCS Nitrogen, a unit of Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan Inc., is looking at spending some $190 million for the Lima upgrade, which will include an estimated 88,000 st/y of additional anhydrous ammonia and an estimated 80,000 st/y increase in urea capacity. Capacity upgrades are expected to be completed by late 2015. Ohio EPA will accept written comments on the draft permit through Jan. 15, 2014, which, along with public comments, will be taken into consideration before a decision is reached to issue or deny the permit
